The simple way to throw the best 70s Party Ever!

By: escapeto theseventies

I have been asked so frequently now about 70s parties that I presumed I'd do a guide for those folks that wish to throw the final themed party.

The first thing you have got to do is get into the 70s attitude. What were the 70s all about Fun of courseFun with a capital F. So you have to do as much as you can to bring in that sorcery fun factor to bring back the memories of your guests.

thus the first thing you must do is make it fancy dress. After all , where's the fun in going to a 70s party without the flares, gigantic Afro wigs, platforms or ridiculous shirts? There are plenty of decent fancy dress shops around but I've found the best one right here. Of course if you need to be more authentic and have the real article then slip down to Ebay for some fantastic bargains though I'll say that men if you would like some serious platforms then use the fancy dress shops because unless you are truly lucky the genuine articles will cost you a fortune.

The second most important thing is the music. I am going to give you a listing of tracks that I have assembled over thirty years of DJ'ing and raving experience which has worked for me.

Music-wise I normally split the party up into four sections.

The warm up

For when the guests are arriving and getting their Babychams.
Here I am going to play the less popular tracks that will hopefully get people in the right mood for the evening. You know the sort of record that stops you mid sentence to point out *oh my Lord I remember this I was.* The idea is to get them reminiscing about the days when the record was out and to get them in precisely the right mind-set for the rest of the evening.
