Can we see further into our lives, other than the distance of institutionalization? You’re asked the question can you see past your wage packet or even your pension? Even with the question explained; that it’s about your life, your kid’s lives and your rolls on this planet; do you actually understand the question? Of concern is that only a small percentage of people would actually understand the question. It’s not a question of intelligence, but that most people have forgotten they understand it. What the hell does all that mean? The reality is that we as a race are now looking unnatural to even ourselves and the scary part is we think we are doing the right thing and answering questions like this correctly. This can appear far fetched when in fact it’s just common sense; it’s just that we have been normalized to our own creation of institutionalization. Of the small percentage of people that could answer that question without being hindered by the normalization of institutionalization, then their answers will sound extreme and scare-mongering because most of us have forgotten that we know what they are saying. A big section of us are happy to have forgotten or are just fascinated because subconsciously it rings a bell. Across the board of institutions; a large percentage of people have wage and pension embedded subconsciously all day every day and the job is something they have to endure. Endure meaning; there is no meaningful goal other than the wage or pension. Yes people will feel that they are doing a good job and in most cases they probably are; but take stock of the initial question. An aspiring goal is not your job done at the end of the day, week or year, but something that a job aspires too achieving as a whole and will keep achieving long after you have gone. Remember institutions were founded and united for a specific purpose. It seems that the only aspiring goal now in any institution is to rise in the chain of command for something other than what that institution stands for, or is about. The normalization of institutionalization has now become such an integral part of our lives that the original concepts of an institution, have evolved or distorted to entrance the society within it. Then you have the bottom line and that’s mostly how it’s perceived; "what can I do to make a difference?", "I have to put family first or think about the future". In most cases not a lot can be done. But remember society is but a collection of institutions with society itself being the biggest one. Society is what you’re investing into and if you believe it’s your back garden for those retiring years or the fishing trips etc, remember you can’t have any of these without society itself and neither can your children’s children.
