For anyone who has been trying to turn their tummy fat into a six pack you’ll also know that this is one of the most difficult areas to get rid of fat. There are 2 main fat layers in our body’s, the bottom layer can easily be burnt off using exercise and a low calorie diet, but it’s the top layer of stored adipose fat nearest the skin that is the most difficult to get rid. So the big question is how to get a six pack?

There are many different products available which promise to give you a set of rock hard abs in a short period of time, some of these programs focus on exercise while others use a specially designed fitness routine to strengthen your abdominal area. The truth is there is no guaranteed quick fix solution because we all have different body types, but one thing is for sure getting the perfect set of abs is possible you just need to know how to get a six pack and what methods to use. If you want to know how to get a six pack then here are a few key tips that have been used by professional personal trainers with a good deal of success.

Less carbohydrates – Less is better in the case of carbohydrates, try to eat foods with fewer carbs such as brown rice, whole wheat pasta and organic potatoes. The reason for this is because once carbohydrates enter your system they turn into a chemical called glycogen, which is used as a source of energy by your brain and muscles. The problem is your body can only store a certain amount of glycogen at one time, so when too many carbs enter your body they are turned into stored fat and kept for later use. There are 2 types of carbohydrates, refined and complex forms, you don’t want to completely stop eating carbs, as your body needs it to produce energy instead eat more refined carbs. You will notice that when your system receives fewer carbs, it will start to use the stored fat for energy during work outs and this is what we want to help reduce fat from your abdominal region.

Eat more protein – If you’re wondering how to get a six pack try eating more protein, this turns directly into muscle in the body when you do your daily exercises; in fact body builders drink a pure form of whey protein to build up mass. You can get a good supply of protein from eggs, low fat milk and peanut butter; the reason that it’s so important to have more muscle is because of the amount of energy that is burned maintaining this type of body tissue. Just having muscle can double the amount of energy burned during exercise and even while you are not moving, apart from this digesting protein rich foods requires twice the amount of calories than digesting fat or carbohydrates.

Drink lots of water – This sounds simple and many people actually forget to do it, but drinking water is essential for building muscle and losing weight faster. People attempting to lose weight should drink about half their body weight in pounds if they want to get optimal results; drinking several glasses of water after you’ve just eaten will help to push out and dilute all the unwanted.

Keep doing cardio – Cardio exercises are the best form of direct calorie burning, studies have found that doing a moderate amount of low intensity cardio over a long time is more efficient at burning of fat then doing intense exercising over a short period of time. There is a peak window of time in which your body burn fat, your system takes 20 minutes to warm up to burning off calories and will stop after about 50 minutes to an hour. The idea is to only exercise long enough to reach your optimal fat burning zone and stop as soon as your body shuts down and refuses to burn off any more fat.
